چکیده
MFCs are bio-electrochemical devices that capable of transforming chemical energy stored in waste organic matter into direct electrical through catalytic activity microorganisms under anaerobic conditions. Bio-electrochemical systems, such as microbial fuel cells (MFCs), serve greener alternatives to conventional energy. In recent years, have drawn science community interest a method for bioelectricity recovery from wastewater while simultaneously treating the wastewater. Moreover; they gain competitive advantage over other water treatment technologies due their unique features huge benefits, less environmental impact, good operating stability, and high economic efficiency. Reports reveal subject much researchers, number papers on is increasing. The ever-growing demand green management renewable sources has enthused research efforts all world. This study, therefore, investigated effect process variables bio-electrical performance H-type fueled with brewery inoculated distillery plant waste. From experimental results, 1150mV maximum voltage output, 92.85%, 91.40%, 68.87%, 70.10% removal efficiencies COD, BOD, TN TP respectively were obtained at 35ºC, pH 7, 5 days. These results confirmed effectively treated would generate considerable amount bio-electricity. Results also revealed MFC provides an alternative insight effective can bio-electricity sustainable eco-friendly manner.

Treatment of Brewery Wastewater and Production of Electricity through Microbial Fuel Cell Technology
Renewable energy is an increasing need in our society. Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) represent a new method for treating wastewater and simultaneously producing electricity. In the present study, we demonstrated the feasibility of bioelectricity generation from brewery wastewater treatment using a mediator less MFC at different pH. We also demonstrated that addition of readily utilizable substrat...

introduction population growth, increasing consumption of natural energy sources, the increasing use of fossil fuels, especially the oil and gas industry in recent years with the energy imbalance management has led to emergence of global energy crisis. moreover, rapid urbanization and industrialization have substantially increased the amount of high-strength wastewater being produced, which in ...
متن کاملElectricity generation potential of poultry droppings wastewater in microbial fuel cell using rice husk charcoal electrodes
Background: Poultry droppings from poultry farms and rice husks obtained from rice milling process are generally considered as wastes and discarded in Nigeria. Although many studies have shown that microbial fuel cells (MFCs) can generate electricity from organic wastes, little or no study have examined MFCs for generating electricity from poultry droppings and rice husk as electrode material. ...
متن کاملElectricity generation from swine wastewater using microbial fuel cells.
Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) represent a new method for treating animal wastewaters and simultaneously producing electricity. Preliminary tests using a two-chambered MFC with an aqueous cathode indicated that electricity could be generated from swine wastewater containing 8320 +/- 190 mg/L of soluble chemical oxygen demand (SCOD) (maximum power density of 45 mW/m2). More extensive tests with a s...
متن کاملContinuous electricity generation from domestic wastewater and organic substrates in a flat plate microbial fuel cell.
A microbial fuel cell (MFC) is a device that converts organic matter to electricity using microorganisms as the biocatalyst. Most MFCs contain two electrodes separated into one or two chambers that are operated as a completely mixed reactor. In this study, a flat plate MFC (FPMFC) was designed to operate as a plug flow reactor (no mixing) using a combined electrode/proton exchange membrane (PEM...
